Golden is home to unforgettable haunted walking tours and pub crawls that shine a light on the town’s shadowy past.

The Talking Dead Tour

Step onto the Washington Avenue Bridge after dark and meet the spirits of Golden’s past. This interactive ghost tour and pub crawl features up to eight characters from the town's history, each with a haunting tale to tell. Hosted by Golden History Tours, it’s a truly immersive storytelling experience. Fridays & Saturdays in October, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Special performance Thursday, October 30.

Murder, Mayhem, and Madness Tour

Uncover the dark side of Golden’s history as you follow a guided walk through sites of shocking stories. From a park named after a man murdered by a mob to tales of crimes atop Castle Rock, this tour reveals the chilling truth behind the town’s most notorious legends. Past guests say it’s not only one of the best ghost tours in Colorado but among the best anywhere. Select evenings in October and November.

Golden Ghosts & Spirits Tour

Part haunted history, part pub crawl, this tour takes you inside three of Golden’s oldest bars, all said to be haunted. Hear chilling tales of haunted hotels, mysterious disappearances, and ghostly gunfighters, all while enjoying a drink to steady your nerves. Runs most Fridays and Saturdays (and sometimes Thursdays) through October and beyond.

Golden Cemetery Tour

Looking for something less spooky? This daytime tour through the historic Golden Cemetery highlights the lives of some of the town’s earliest residents. It’s rich in history and completely ghost-free. October 11, 2025 with tour times at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

A perfect kickoff to fall, Autumn Fest offers live music, crafts, farm animals, and family-friendly activities in a welcoming downtown setting. Sunday, October 5 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Harvest Haunt at the Colorado Railroad Museum

Climb aboard for Halloween fun at this scare-free celebration featuring train rides, a silly cemetery, trick-or-treat stations, and a not-so-scary maze perfect for younger kids. October 18 and 19 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The Golden Hayride Beer Tour
