Join CMC Press author Norm Lewis on Tuesday, June 22, at 6:00 pm for a free online Introduction to Bird Hiking clinic. Learn what birding is all about and how you can start to incorporate birding into your hiking. Norm will cover tips for beginners, necessary equipment, and the basics of bird identification, as well as the best seasons for bird identification and some good destinations for summer hikes to see birds.

Norm will show photos of some of the 175 bird species and 30 trails included in his new book, The Best Front Range Bird Hikes. These trails combine inviting scenery, historic interest, and great birding, and range from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs, including the high mountains within an hour’s drive of Denver.

The Best Front Range Bird Hikes bridges two of the most popular pastimes in Colorado—hiking and birding—with information about the best treks for finding birds, as well as species of particular interest and the best seasons for bird identification. This is an excellent guide for those new to birding, visitors from out of state, and experienced birders looking to add to their life list.

NORM LEWIS was introduced to birding in 1984 and immediately fell in love with it. He currently leads birding outings and tours for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and is a past president of the Colorado Field Ornithologists and Denver Field Ornithologists.
