Description

Departing Select Dates November & December, 2020!

As we look forward to fall, THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride event is beginning to take shape. The Colorado Railroad Museum is pleased to announce a revised and updated show for THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train RIde in 2020! Casting auditions have been held, and a whole host of carefully crafted updates have been made in order to ensure the health and safety of guests, cast and crew.

Our revised and updated show will still bring you all your favorite characters and the Magic of THE POLAR EXPRESS™! Put on your pajamas and your most fashionable mask, and bring the family to enjoy sharing hot cocoa and cookies together as the “Hot, Hot, Hot—Chocolate” song and dance unfolds before your eyes. Laugh and sing along with our cast as they tell stories and sing Christmas Carols and perform the story of The Polar Express live! Follow your Conductor through our enchanted railyard to meet Smokey and Steamer and learn, in song, how a steam locomotive works.

Climb aboard, and journey to the North Pole while more scenes from the movie unfold aboard the train. As the North Pole emerges on the horizon, elves and Santa come into view. Santa will give out “the first gift of Christmas,” then your train will transport its sleepy passengers back to the present, dodging some stubborn caribou along the way! Upon arriving back in Golden you’ll meet Santa and his elves and receive your very own first gift of Christmas!

All Aboard! Tickets for THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride go on sale to the General Public on October 1.

ENHANCED SAFETY MEASURES

With enhanced health and safety protocols in place, THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride has been adjusted for 2020 to meet local guidance. The health and well-being of our guests, cast and crew is our primary concern, and we’ve made changes to responsibly host this holiday tradition! The Colorado Railroad Museum follows current health guidelines and performs regular facility cleanings for everyone’s safety. Some of the measures in place for THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride include:

Masks required for entry for guests ages 3 and up, and must be worn at all times during the event, except when eating or drinking while seated and properly distanced.

Limited capacity entry to the event, allowing for safe distances to be maintained throughout the event and aboard the train ride.

Staggered train ride seating between groups, and sanitization before each train ride.

Advanced tickets required, sold at www.ColoradoRailroadMuseum.org/Polar-Express/Tickets.

Increased cleaning procedures throughout the event.

to ensure groupings match up with seating arrangements.

Added signage for distancing and handwashing.

Standard Seating
$95/person ages 2 and up (MUST be purchased in pairs at $190/pair) – Lap Riders under age 2 Free

Your group will be seated together in the Polar Express Pavilion for the cabaret-style show, and then you’ll board one of three coaches for your ride to the North Pole. This year, we’ll take care of assigning your group to a specific coach. This will allow us to ensure that we provide the most generous distancing possible between your group and the next one aboard each of our three enclosed, vintage coaches. Hot cocoa, cookie, and—of course—a Silver Bell is included with each ticket. NOTE: Groups wishing to be seated together must purchase all tickets in a single transaction. Groups larger than 16 (8 pairs of tickets purchased at the same time) will be seated aboard different coaches for your ride to the North Pole.

First Class
$475/table of four (plus up to two Lap Riders under age 2 free)

Tables of four are available aboard our newly refurbished “Lake Kusawa” parlor car. These are available only as a complete table; your group can be up to four in size per table (plus lap riders). Each table receives four commemorative Polar Express cocoa mugs, a copy of The Polar Express illustrated
