Get the benefits of a cardio workout and your favorite yoga moves all in one, 60 minute class. HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) targets fast-twitch muscle fibers that yoga does not. Yoga works on mostly slow-twitch fibers, which build stamina and endurance for longer holding. Fast-twitch muscle fibers are what help you get stronger for movement without injury, and give muscles more tone. Yoga HIIT intervals are inspired by yoga movements and make less impact on joints than regular HIIT exercises. They are done in Tabata timing - 4 minute blocks of 20 seconds activity, 10 seconds rest, 8 rounds total. There are up to 4 HIIT intervals in each Yoga HIIT class, with the rest of the class composed of Vinyasa yoga flows and holds. Practice the mindful movements of yoga and get a cardio endorphins kick.
