COVID-19 INFORMATION

Visit Golden recognizes that residents and travelers may be concerned about COVID-19 and how it may affect them. The City of Golden is located in Jefferson County Colorado and all City, County, and State guidelines are followed in Golden. We in Golden are on a steady, thoughtful path to reopening our economy. While traveling in Colorado, the health and safety of both visitors and residents remain our highest priority.

Mask Guidance:

Jefferson County Board of Health took action on Nov. 22, 2021 to require face coverings for everyone ages 3+ in indoor public spaces, regardless of vaccination status. The Order is effective November 24, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. and shall remain in effect at all times Jefferson County is in Substantial or High TransmissionYou may read the full public health order here.

Colorado Department of Public Health 

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) has issued a public health order (PHO) to require full vaccination for unseated, indoor public events with 500 or more people in the metro area counties of Denver, Arapahoe, Adams, Boulder, Broomfield, and Jefferson.

The public health order can be found here. Key details include:

  • The order goes into effect this Friday, November 19, and is in effect through December 31.
  • The order applies to all unseated, open to the public indoor events of 500 or more individuals.
  • Individuals 12 years of age or older are required to be fully vaccinated to be admitted into the indoor event.
  • Event venues with vaccine requirements or testing programs in place may continue to have a verified negative COVID-19 test as an option until December 1.
  • No later than December 1, all public indoor events of 500 more individuals shall require proof of being fully vaccinated to be admitted into the indoor event.
  • Indoor event venues may submit a variance request to CDPHE if they have disease mitigation measures that will similarly protect individuals.
  • All unseated, private indoor events of greater than 500 individuals are strongly encouraged to implement a mandatory vaccination policy for all individuals, or at a minimum require the individual to produce a negative COVID-19 test to be admitted into the indoor event.
  • Everyone must still wear masks on planes, buses, trains and other forms of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States, and in U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and stations. This is required by federal law for both vaccinated and unvaccinated people.

Many restaurants provide takeout, delivery and outdoor seating. We recommend contacting restaurants directly to inquire about their services in advance. Many Golden restaurants are serving food and alcohol for takeout or home delivery. 

Outdoor Recreation
Golden has countless acres of accessible federal land, state parks, municipal parks, open space and other accessible areas that make physical distancing feel natural.

If you are in need of food assistance, meal pick-up is available at The Splash at Fossil Trace, 3151 Illinois Street. Prepackaged, made-fresh, take and go breakfasts and lunches are distributed from 1 to 1:30 p.m., Monday – Friday (no weekends).

For those unable to leave the home and in financial stress, email BGoldNcity@gmail.com or call 720-432-5048 with your name, phone number and address. The delivery service is ONLY for those who are UNABLE to leave their homes. Anyone who is underserved and IS ABLE to leave the house will receive their meals at The Splash at Fossil Trace, 3151 Illinois Street.

If you are able, please donate to the BGoldN Fund and help families and individuals who need food assistance. 100% of donations will cover local restaurant costs for BGoldN and purchasing food for our local food banks. Read more about this innovative program in the press release.
