Arts & Entertainment in Golden
Visit Golden for a night out under the stars with the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra, or delight in the cultural charm of this Colorado town as you discover all of Golden’s public art exhibits. From intimate theater performances to western-style art and sculptures, Golden’s cultural arts and entertainment scene is a gem in itself.
History & Art Beckons
Golden’s history is rich in fascinating Western tales of pioneers, explorers, and hard-working people looking to build a town at the center of it all. Today, Golden has held onto that gold-rush-era allure in many ways, and it shows — especially in our art museums, galleries, and public art walks.
Walk the Twelfth Street Historic District and take in the traditional charm of the pioneer architecture along the way, or dip into Golden History Park, where you’ll discover a three-acre replica of a 19th-century mountain homestead in the middle of downtown Golden. The park’s Golden History Museum gives visitors a hands-on look at historical objects and photographs, painting an authentic picture of Golden throughout the ages.
Take a winding drive up to the Boettcher Mansion for sweeping views and a uniquely local part of history within the walls of this historic home, built over a century ago. The mansion, constructed by prominent architects of the early 1900s with native stone and wood from the site itself, stands in harmonious solitude atop Lookout Mountain.
The Colorado Railroad Museum is an exciting destination, too, with rotating galleries on display, showcasing stories of Colorado’s railroad history and the people behind them.
