If you like beer, you’ll love Golden. In addition to being home to the largest single-site brewery in the world – MillerCoors – Golden is home to seven craft beer breweries also offering tours and beer tastings.

Adolph Coors established the brewery in Golden in 1873 on the banks of Clear Creek (originally called Cannonball Creek). The company and the town have grown together for well over a century, and today, the Coors Brewery Tour attracts 300,000 visitors each year. The Coors Brewery Tour includes a quick van tour of Golden, including historic downtown, a self-guided tour of the brewery featuring the hoppers and bottling line, and a trip to the hospitality room, where you can sample MillerCoors (including AC Golden) products for free.

The hours for the tour change seasonally, so it’s best to call ahead to make sure they’re open on the day you plan to visit. Plan to spend at least an hour to three hours depending on the wait. Click here for more information about Coors.

Please note: Backpacks or bags of any type (i.e. purses, diaper bags, briefcases, computer bags, etc.) are not permitted in the brewery or on the tour. Strollers are not permitted on the bus or in the brewery. These items should be left at home or in the car as Coors Brewery Tour staff will not check bags. Lockers are NOT provided.

  • Cannonball Creek Brewery
Effective immediately and until further notice, Cannonball Creek is closed to the public. We are exploring the idea of selling to-go beer from the taproom, but we are not confident that we can do that efficiently or responsibly today Cannonball Creek Brewery and Tap room is one of four craft breweries in Golden Colorado. Located on the north side of town, just minutes from downtown Golden, Cannonball Creek offers a relaxed atmosphere for beer lovers with a rotating tap. Cannonball Creek focused on Belgian ales, and experimental ingredients while also offering some of the bigger American styles. With 140 seats in the taproom, there'll be plenty of space to have a beer and enjoy eats from rotating food trucks, or deliciousness delivered from a local restaurant like nearby Bob's Atomic Burgers.
  • Golden City Brewery
Golden City Brewery is Golden's second largest brewery and offers tours by appointment. The beer garden and taproom serve award-winning handcrafted ales and lagers. Compete in the monthly cribbage tournament or enjoy live music in the beer garden. Purchase a growler or boomer of the Legendary Red to take home.
  • Holidaily Brewing Co.
The key to the deliciousness of our beer is high-quality ingredients and knowledgeable employees. We use the finest locally sourced, malted, gluten-free grains as the base for our beers. Whether or not you have celiac disease or a gluten sensitivity, Holidaily invites craft beer lovers to celebrate life every single day! How do you Holidaily? We are the only dedicated, gluten-free brewing facility in the state of Colorado. That means not one gluten-containing ingredient enters our doors, so there is never a chance for cross-contamination.
  • Mountain Toad Brewing
Mountain Toad Brewing Golden is a small microbrewery specializing in handcrafted fresh beer. Mountain Toad's focus is on providing a place for the Golden community to gather and unwind. The future taproom will offer a quaint and comfortable atmosphere for locals and visitors alike to grab a pint and make a new friend. After all, craft beers are more thoroughly enjoyed when in good company. Mountain Toad will offer beers by the half pint, pint or pitcher as well as growlers so that their beer can be taken to-go and enjoyed at home. The brewery is at the corner of 9th and Washington in historic downtown Golden and was an old machine shop that has been restored and transformed into a small brewhouse and taproom, with a beer garden in the adjacent yard. The brewery’s name was inspired by the Rocky Mountain Toad. A toad is commonly viewed as an indicator to the health of an ecosystem. Feeding off small insects and living in both water and land, a happy local toad population indicates a flourishing, vibrant and well-balanced environment. Thus, the Mountain Toad is a symbol for good health and vitality within our community. Rugged, adventurous and whimsical, the Mountain Toad is a playful character that embodies the atmosphere of the brewery. Mountain Toad Brewing has a 10 BBL brewhouse and a 1 BBL pilot system. At any given time, they will have up to 8 beers on tap, consisting of several house standards and several rotating seasonal / experimental beers. The four house standards are Apex Amber, White Ranch Wit, Mt. Zion IPA and Ryrish Stout.
