In Golden, live music is everywhere. You might find a band playing the The Golden Mill while people float down Clear Creek nearby, stop by Buffalo Rose for a quick concert, or catch an acoustic set at a brewery around town.   

You can also catch a comedy night or special event at Miners Alley Playhouse or Gnardy’s, and if you aren’t ready to call it a night yet, Golden’s Nightlife scene keeps things going after dark. 

Family Fun & Kid-Friendly Events 

It’s also easy to keep kids entertained. Near Clear Creek Whitewater Park, you can watch kayakers ride the rapids in the spring, or cool off along the water. Weekend events and seasonal festivals also pop up often at local parks. 

You can also hop aboard a train at the Colorado Railroad Museum or explore Triceratops Trail, with plenty of other family friendly stops nearby.  

Outdoor & Seasonal Activities 

Weekends here almost always include time outside. Hike part of Lookout Mountain for amazing views, walk or bike the Clear Creek Trail, or spend time exploring North Table Mountain. 

During warmer months, Clear Creek is a great way to cool off, while cooler seasons are great for scenic hikes through the foothills. For a full day of fresh air and adventure, explore more outdoor activities.

Downtown Golden hosts small markets, gallery openings, and fun community events all year long. Stop by Foothills Art Center to see rotating exhibits or wander through seasonal markets along Washington Avenue to discover local artists and vendors.  

Cultural events and community festivals like Buffalo Bill Days and the Golden Fine Arts Festival and ARTWEEK GOLDEN are worth planning your visit around. 

You’ll also find historic streets filled with murals, sculptures, and locally owned shops. Discover boutiques and galleries and plan a day of shopping. 

Food, Beer & Community Gatherings 

Weekend events in Golden often start or end with great food. Stop by Woody’s Wood Fired Pizza, swing through Cannonball Creek for small batch pours, or take a self guided walk past Golden’s historic Coors Brewery.
