The Colorado Mountain Club (CMC) community inspires adventure, empowers progression, and protects the lands we love. The CMC is the state’s leading organization dedicated to outdoor adventure, recreation, conservation, and education for novices and experts, alike. The CMC was founded in 1912 and was instrumental in establishing Rocky Mountain National Park. Today, the CMC engages its more than 6500 members in over 3000 outings, annually. In 2017, our members hiked 101,222 miles, went on 1717 trips, participated in 195 wilderness classes, and adventured to over 19 global destinations. Its Conservation team restored over 13,000 sq ft of habitat, maintained over 81 miles of trail, and removed 384 downed trees. The CMC has also published over 60 guidebooks so you can take on the Colorado wilderness, whatever your mission.
