Golden’s Major Summer Events:Colorado Railroad Museum Steam Train

Colorado Power Days at the Colorado Railroad Museum, June 14 & 15, 2025 from  9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This Father’s Day weekend, celebrate “Colorado Railroad Heritage Week!” with a ride behind an authentic, coal burning Colorado steam locomotive. Hands-on demonstrations and even the Museum’s own mascot, Spike the Railroad Dog will be part of the event!

ARTSWEEK GOLDEN, June 16 - 22, 2025, is a week-long celebration of the arts featuring the ARTSWEEK GOLDEN FESTIVAL on June 21st and 22nd, a juried arts fest with 70 local and national artists exhibiting their works in Parfet Park. This year, there will be a beer garden featuring local craft brews. This annual art salute is hosted by Foothills Art Center and boasts a week of activities, classes and events throughout Golden.

Fourth of July Festival, July 4, 2025. This celebration features family friendly activities, bouncy houses, face painting, live music and is the perfect time for friends, and neighbors to get together at Lions Park to enjoy food and fun while celebrating the U.S of A. No fireworks.

Buffalo Bill Days, July 25 - 27, 2025. Thousands of people fill the streets of Golden for Buffalo Bill Days, one of Golden’s favorite summer traditions—a multi-day festival celebrating the adventurous spirit of William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody. What began in the 1940s as a memorial trail ride has grown into a lively event with a parade, music, art, food, and fun for the whole family.

Golden Fine Arts Festival, August 9 - 10, 2025. Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the Golden Fine Arts Festival is a beloved tradition held in the heart of historic downtown and featuring a weekend of art, live entertainment, libations and juried artwork from national and Colorado artists.

Gold Rush Days at the Colorado Railroad Museum, August 9 & 10, 2025. It’s the annual end of summer steam-up event with an authentic coal-burning steam locomotive pulling trains, hand-on demonstrations and more.

 

Golden’s Ongoing/Recurring Summer Events:Farmers Market

Golden Farmers Market, Saturdays, May - October, 2025 from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Golden Library Parking Lot (1019 10th St.). Established in 2002, the Golden Farmers Market is a beloved community event promoting food equity, local business growth, and connection. Managed by the Golden Chamber of Commerce, GFM brings people together and supports a thriving community—living up to its tagline: “Community Sprouting Growth.”

Golden Super Cruise, first Saturday of the month, June – October, 2025.  From 5 – 8:30 p.m., and starting on South Golden Road. The Golden Super Cruise is a longstanding tradition of fabulous cars and good old-fashioned cruising fun. This year, there will be no official entertainment, vendors, info line, or email contact. The Cruise has always belonged to you—so if you're a regular, you know what to do. If you're new, start at South Golden Road and join in. It’s easy, and the people are welcoming.

Country Market, Sundays, June - October, 2025 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at The Golden Hayride Outpost (17695 S. Golden Rd.). The weekly Country Market features locally grown produce, cottage law food products, and local craft artisans. Enjoy Golden-inspired cocktails and local brews, great eats from food trucks, cozy fire pits and outdoor seating, and best of all—no cover charge, just good vibes!

Baby Goat Yoga at the Golden Community Center in Lions Park, 6/22/2025, 7/27/2025, 8/24/2025, 9/21/2025. Join us for a fun-filled session with adorable baby goats. These little cuties are just a few weeks old and still on the bottle, so you'll get to bond with them while getting your yoga on. Bring your own yoga mat or rent a mat for $5 and have no worries about any surprises on yours. After 45 minutes of yoga, you'll have 15 minutes to unwind and bottle feed the goats. And as a bonus, you'll receive a complimentary notebook with Guided Goat Hikes on it, perfect for keeping track of your gym and yoga sessions. Rooftop Yoga at The Golden Mill, Fridays, May 30 - August 29, 2025. From 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., at The Golden Mill. Join an all-levels class hosted by Flow Yoga Studio on The Golden Mill’s rooftop patio. The class runs rain or shine. Registration is $20 per session and includes a drink from The Golden Mill's tap wall.

Saturday Morning Rise Yoga at The Eddy Taproom & Hotel, Saturdays, June 7 - September 6, 2025.  There's no better way to start your day than with a yoga flow, uniting breath to movement with the Colorado Foothills as your backdrop. Join Rise Yoga of Golden, CO on the Eddy Lawn for a 60 minute class. Class is free, but advance registration is required.

Monthly Movies & Music in the Park, one Friday/month, June 13, July 11, August 8. Free music and a family-friendly movie are shown one Friday night each month (June-Aug.) in Parfet Park. Bands begin performing at 7 p.m. and the featured movie of the night begins at dusk, around 8:30 p.m. The movies are shown on a giant inflatable screen under the stars. This year's featured films are: The Wild Robot, Moana 2, and Air Bud.

Colorado Railroad Museum Summer Train Rides, Thursdays – Sundays, mid May – mid-August, 2025. On Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, hop on board for train rides at the Colorado Railroad Museum. Featuring open-air coaches pulled by a vintage diesel locomotive or steam locomotive, summer train rides are a thrill for all and a small fee in addition to admission.

Golden History Park Open House, taking place on select Saturdays May - September from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Visit for hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and engaging stories. Experience pioneer life firsthand and step back into the 1800s at Golden History Park!

Blacksmithing in the Park, every third Saturday of the month, May - December, from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Join museum volunteers every third Saturday at Golden History Park for a fascinating day of blacksmithing demonstrations. Watch skilled hands use historic tools and a coal-fired forge in a recreated 1800s blacksmith shop—an engaging, hands-on journey into the past. The event is free and open to the public. Golden Bicycle Cruise, on the last Tuesday of the month - May through September, 2025. This is a family-friendly event featuring pedal bikes, beers and bands. The rides are themed, and riders are encouraged to wear costumes and decorate their bikes.

Wednesdays on the Creek Summer Music Series at The Golden Hotel, Wednesdays, June 4 - August 27, 5 - 8 p.m. Gather in the Hotel’s Creekside Courtyard for a mid-week escape to an idyllic creekside venue with live music, sweeping mountain views and dramatic sunsets, local brews and Golden community members of every age and background—all ready to enjoy music, food and company!
