Golden is Blooming in May

Golden is blooming with activity in May and throughout the summer! With the warmer temperatures and spring rains, Golden is alive with color and Clear Creek is flowing with fury. Hikers are already enjoying the trails, kayakers are fighting the rapids and fly fisherman are casting for record catches!

Join us for Mother’s Day and treat that special lady in your life to a day of pampering with a massage at one Golden’s spas, a hike in the 800+ acres of open space around Golden or dinner along the Creek. Then, come back and enjoy the Golden Games, May 15 – 17, and watch some of Colorado’s best athletes compete in competitions such as Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) or Slack lining.

And don’t miss the opening of The Splash, Golden’s water park, on Saturday May 23. It’s the 4th largest water park in the Denver metro area!

Golden’s cultural organizations are also getting in on the fun and offering exciting new exhibits and events for the family. Stop by the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum to view their newest exhibit, Gwen Marston: Contemporary Quilts. Or, plan to see Brighton Beach Memoirs at Miners Alley Playhouse, opening May 22. West Side Live! presents After Midnight May 16, and the first Golden (Bicycle) Cruise is Tuesday, May 26.

With so much going on in May it’s hard to think of June, but make sure to mark your calendar for the start of the Golden Farmers Market on June 6 and the opening of the Ansel Adams exhibit June 13 at Foothills Art Center. See you in Golden
