The Big Festivals You Won't Want to Miss

ARTSWEEK Golden | June 15–21 Creativity takes over Golden for a full week of art classes, exhibitions, and performances. The grand finale, the juried ArtsWeek Golden Festival on June 20 and 21 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Parfet Park), brings together 70+ artists, live entertainment, and a local beer garden. It is the perfect summer Saturday outing.

Colorado Railroad Museum's Colorado Power Days | June 20–21 Father's Day weekend gets a serious upgrade with steam locomotive rides, live demonstrations, and family activities celebrating Colorado's rich railroad heritage. Kids and train lovers of all ages will be in their element.

Fourth of July Festival | July 4 There is something special about celebrating Independence Day in a place that still feels like a real hometown. Golden's Fourth of July at Lions Park delivers exactly that: live music, food vendors, and a relaxed, community-first vibe.

Golden Days at New Terrain Brewing | July 16–18 Brand new this year, Golden Days is a three-day festival built entirely around what makes Golden, Golden: local beer, local food, and local culture. Think of it as a love letter to this town in festival form.

Buffalo Bill Days | July 24–26 (80th Anniversary!) A milestone year for one of Golden's most beloved traditions. The 80th anniversary celebration honors the legacy of Buffalo Bill Cody with a parade along Washington Avenue, live music, arts and crafts, food vendors, and plenty of frontier spirit in Parfet Park.

Golden Fine Arts Festival | August 15–16 Wrap up summer the right way with a premier showcase of juried artwork from Colorado and national artists, set against the backdrop of Parfet Park with live entertainment and local flavors to round out the experience.

Golden's summer is not just about big festival weekends. There is something happening almost every week, and these recurring experiences are what make the town feel alive all season.

Golden Farmers Market Saturdays, May 30 through October 3 | 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. | 10th and Illinois. Local produce, artisan goods, and a lively community atmosphere make this a Saturday morning ritual worth waking up for. And this summer, the fun extends to midweek: the new Golden Midweek Market runs Wednesdays from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Golden High School (701 24th Street) from June 10 through July 29.

Colorado Railroad Museum Summer Train Rides Thursdays through Sundays, mid-May through mid-August. Climb aboard open-air coaches pulled by vintage diesel or steam locomotives for a ride that delights kids and adults alike.

Golden History Park Open House Select Saturdays, May through September | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Step back into 1800s pioneer life through hands-on activities and live demonstrations. A great low-key stop for families.
